our story

About us

Shoes 4 Kids is a 501(c)3 faith based nonprofit led by Pastor Chris Haralson. Prior to pastoring, Chris owned and operated Monkey Toes as well as a selling manager for Parisian and Von Maur. Chris brings over 15 years of experience fitting children shoes.

OUR BEGINNING

It all started when Chris Haralson bought, owned and operated Monkey Toes, a children's shoe store. He noticed that many children in their community lacked proper shoes, putting them at risk of injury, illness, and social exclusion.  Chris took action and with the help of many volunteers, they launched a shoe donation drive to collect new and gently used shoes. The response was so overwhelming that overtime the program expanded to many communties.

A DOOR SHUT, A NEW ONE OPENED

In 2015, Chris closed Monkey Toes but his heart of providing shoes to the underserved community didn't stop. In January 2022, Chris launched Shoes 4 Kids with its mission of Sharing Love and Building Hope through a new pair of children shoes. Shoes 4 Kids  is a community engagment program of Everyday Grace Ministries, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization that exist to Change Your life, Change the World.

GOING FORWARD

Shoes 4 Kids continues to grow and innovate, exploring new ways to meet the needs of children. Recenlty, Shoes 4 Kids has partnered with Head Start of Jefferson County, Al. and Operation Warm to provide essential footwear to children.  Our partnership provides a foundation of hope and love for all children.  Join us, as we look to partner with other organizations in the near future.
